Is LitBuy legit? An independent look
Updated: 6 Oct 2026
Yes. LitBuy is a working Chinese shopping agent: it buys items from marketplaces such as Weidian and Taobao for you, photographs them in its warehouse and ships them abroad. The risks are wrong sizes, items that differ from the listing and unexpected shipping or tax costs. Check the QC photos before you approve shipping, and pay with buyer protection.
What does a shopping agent like LitBuy do?
Many sellers on Weidian, Taobao and 1688 do not ship abroad or accept foreign payment. An agent buys the item on your behalf, receives it in its own warehouse in China, photographs it, stores it and then ships one or more items to you in a single international parcel.
That means two separate relationships: the seller makes the product, the agent handles buying, checking and shipping. A legit agent can still deliver a disappointing product if the seller’s listing was misleading, which is why the photo check in the warehouse matters.
How much does LitBuy charge?
Expect to pay in two stages:
- When ordering: the item price plus the seller’s domestic shipping to the warehouse, and any service fee the agent charges on the order.
- When shipping: international shipping for the whole parcel, priced by weight or volume and by the shipping line you choose, plus optional extras such as extra photos, insurance or special packing.
Fee levels and shipping rates change, so check the current fee and shipping pages inside your LitBuy account before you pay. For Germany and the EU you also pay import VAT and a customs charge; see the shipping and customs guide.
How does the QC process work?
After your item reaches the warehouse, LitBuy posts quality-control photos to your order. Compare them with the listing, check the size label and look for defects. If something is wrong, ask for more photos, an exchange or a return to the seller before you submit the parcel. Once the parcel has left China, returns are rarely practical. Our QC checklist lists what to look at.
Which payment methods protect you?
Use a payment method that lets you dispute a charge if something goes wrong. Payments by credit card can be disputed through your card issuer, and PayPal offers its own buyer protection programme with its own conditions. Check which methods LitBuy shows at checkout for your account. Methods without a dispute process, such as bank transfers or crypto, give you less recourse.
Should you trust review scores?
We don’t quote review scores here. Ratings on review sites can be gamed in either direction, and a score says little about your own order. Read recent, detailed experiences on forums and start with a small first order.
So, is LitBuy worth using?
An agent like LitBuy is a practical way to buy from Chinese marketplaces that would not sell to you directly. You control the main risks with measurements, the QC photos and a clear idea of shipping and tax costs before you pay. Branded goods that are not genuine can be seized by customs, whatever the agent does.
